I built a Dashtera dashboard project to visualize Hurricane Melissa (2025) and compare it with major historical Atlantic storms. The dashboard includes rainfall, warnings, power outages, humanitarian impacts, and full 3D structural models of the storms Melissa and Katrina.
The most interesting part of the project was the 3D point cloud models, which model the storm's internal structure, spiral belts, and dynamic "hollow eye". I also made a separate 3D comparison of Melissa vs. Katrina. I really like how the coloring worked out with the 3D hurricanes.
Part of the dataset is based on real sources, but some values may be outdated, incomplete, or simulated. Melissa itself is fully synthetic, and the comparisons should not be interpreted as scientifically accurate, but rather indicative.
The goal is not to produce an official weather analysis, but to demonstrate what Dashtera can do in terms of analytics and 3D visualization.
