Recently my friend who is a kindergarten teacher asked me to make a program that would motivate kids to be silent during naptime.
The idea was to place a tablet in the room that would depict a sleeping bear. Then, depending on the surrounding noise level, the bear would look increasingly disturbed or ultimately burst out crying if there was simply too much noise to sleep.
Monitoring microphone input levels is simple enough, but a key challenge in this task was the calibration of noise levels.
I tackled it by routing the microphone data to Dashtera and displaying a line chart from the data.

Sorry, no dashboard share link, this was done with an in-development version.
P.S. Does anyone know if there is some way to directly share screenshots of dashboards here on the forums page? I think the platform only supports including externally hosted images.
Re: Sleeping Bear calibration dashboard
2Pretty cool project!
I hope the bear gets enough sleep
The forum should now allow attaching images directly.
